The MEC is devoted to people who want either improve English by learning concrete or improve concrete technology by learning English. It includes six sessions in the period 6-14 June 2008 which will be repeated in the period of 12-20 September 2008 (SCHEDULED PROGRAMME). One can attend one or more sessions separately or combine them independently of the period.

To achieve a MEC certificate all the sessions -not necessarily including the Venice Technical Visit- must be covered and a written examination before 31 December must be successfully passed. People who attended the Enco Workshop on “Full Immersion in Concrete English” held in 2007 can be credited with some sessions to achieve the MEC certificate (to be agreed with the MEC Committee).

Each oral presentation will be accompanied by a power-point video-projection in order to improve understanding and spelling of the examined subjects.

The subjects of the MEC (SUBJECTS OF THE SESSIONS) will be described in:
-books (The New Concrete and Concrete Mix Design);
-software Easy & Quick to prescribe performances according to the EN 206;
-software (CMD) to design the composition of concrete according to EN 206;
-software Process to manage the combination of aggregates;

-papers published on international magazines and proceedings of conferences on concrete science and technology.

International authoritative concrete experts (INVITED SPEAKERS) will present the subjects of six different sessions.

**To achieve the MEC certificate all the sessions, not necessarily including the Venice technical tour, in June and/or September must be covered.

***   The registration fee of each session includes books, papers, coffee breaks, buffet lunches. It does not include the VAT Tax (20%). Special discount of 15 % for each session when the registration fee is paid before 30 April 2008 for the June sessions or 31 July  2008 for the September session. For people attending all the sessions, between June and September 2008, there is a special registration fee of 2800 € (VAT not included).
